Overview
Discover Oman’s historical and cultural highlights with this private 4-day tour from Muscat. You will explore Muscat, Nizwa, Sur coast-line, ‘wadis’ dune-bash in the Wahiba Sands.
Day 1 : Arrival – Muscat
Your guide receives you at Muscat International Airport. Before check in at the hotel have a quick tour around the capital, starting with a photo stop at the Sultan Qaboos Mosque. Pass the embassy quarter and enjoy the beautiful view of the Royal Opera House from outside. Continue to Al Alam Palace which is flanked by two Portuguese Forts called Al Mirani and Al Jalali. Thereafter, drive along the corniche to Muttrah Souk, the oldest souk in Oman where you have the time for some shopping. Check in at the hotel and overnight stay.
Day 2 : Muscat – Bahla – Nizwa Fort
On your way to Nizwa stop at the famous Amouage factory where you can discover the manufacture and the ingredients of their unique perfumes (Fridays and Saturdays closed). Proceed to Nizwa, the old capital of Oman. After that you will walk around the souq of Nizwa and get to know more about its history at the fort.
Day 3 : Nizwa – Wadi Bani Khalid – Wahiba Sands
Drive to the beautiful Wadi Bani Khalid, which invites you to have a swim or just to enjoy the mesmerizing scenery. Move towards Wahiba Sands and enjoy some dune bashing in your car before sunset watching over the sand dunes. Overnight at Al Salam Camp or similar.
Day 4 : Wahiba Sands -Sur – Coastal Line – Muscat- Departure
After leaving Sur you will drive alongside the coastline to Muscat. Take the chance to explore Wadi Tiwi. Just in time to reach your flight you will be brought back to Muscat International Airport.
